Expo reports & photos

The recent Australian history & genealogy expo 2016 attracted a number of bloggers. So it is hardly surprising that some of these have given their impressions of the expo on their blogs. Here is a photo of the bloggers and list of blog reports we are aware of.

The expo that grew

Australia has never had a national  history & genealogy expo or fair - until less than two weeks ago. The British Isles, north America and New Zealand have all had major national exhibitions - events targeting the wider public, rather than just the committed researchers as conferences do.  Australia has had regional and even state expos/fairs, but nothing on a national scale.

$10,000 in prizes at the Australian history & genealogy expo 2016

What started out as regional (state) expo with quite modest expectations became something much larger. In no area was this more pronounced than the prizes - the number of donors and the number and value of prizes offered. This blog post acknowledges the donors and lists all the winners.
