Parramatta & District Historical Society was formed in 1913 and celebrates its centenary in 2013.
It researches, records, publishes and publicises aspects of Parramatta's history and heritage, as well as operating an 1824 house museum to display mid 19th century domestic life in Australia.
Its vision is to be the local authority on the history (local and family) and heritage of Parramatta, and to operate Hambledon Cottage as an historic house museum, authentically displaying and furnishing it as an 1820s-1880s colonial Georgian cottage.
The Society has monthly meetings (February-November) with guest speakers on the 3rd Wednesday at 7.30pm at Burnside Public School hall, 1 Masons drive, North Parramatta.
