Torquay Museum Without Walls
Torquay Museum Without Walls, a digital history group, was formed in 2015 to provide a unique and meaningful record of Torquay history which is accessible anywhere in the world. We offer a dynamic and constantly-evolving information centre through the digital world. Our history collection is not defined by a physical space. It is the museum of the future, where landmarks, stories, digital images and social media will integrate to provide accurate, accessible anywhere and anytime access to history of the area which includes: Torquay, Mount Duneed, Connewarre, Freshwater Creek, Pettavel, Paraparap, Jan Juc, Bellbrae and Breamlea.
We look back at people in our community who made a difference and look around us as history is made today. We want visitors to “Feel the History”.
Stories of the district orgins and more recent history of the 1960s - 1980s are also published in our quarterly HISTORY MATTERS magazine. Our Facebook page is very active and complements the Torquay history Facebook group. Instagram is developing its own following, as well as those who are following the blogs posted on the website.
