First Fleet descendants from William Broughton and Lucas Gascoigne families will visit Norfollk Island next March to participate in the 225th First Fleet Anniversary celebrations.
In recognition of the significance of Norfolk Island as the first settlement after Sydney and the critical role it played in supporting the fledging community, a week of special events is being held on the island.
Many First Fleet descendants will visit next March. The new KAVHA Public Research Centre will help visitors locate their ancestor's land grants and learn more about their heritage on special customised First Fleet Settlement tours presented by Norfolk Island Museum.
Visitors will be offered an optional program of events dedicated to celebrate the First Fleet arrival. Event highlights include a re-enactment of the Norfolk Island arrival and a private luncheon
hosted by local First Fleet descendants John, Brad, Ariane, and Andre Forrester at their stunning cliff-top property, Forrester Court.
