Next year celebrates the arrival of the first group of South Sea Islanders in Queensland on board the Don Juan in August 1863. As a preparation, this seminar will showcase the wide range of South Sea Islander records located in our repositories. Glancing through the records, one may be able to find out which island their ancestors came from, what sort of work they did and the records which relate to the settlement of Australian South Sea Islanders in Queensland.
