Howard Hawk’s Bringing Up Baby stars Katherine Hepburn as Susan Vance, a spoilt heiress who has set her cap at Dr David Huxley (Cary Grant), a stuffy palaeontologist who needs just one more small bone to complete his prized brontosaurus skeleton.
Add Baby, a tame leopard that is delivered to Susan in her New York apartment; a terrier who steals and buries the irreplaceable bone; a pompous big game hunter; a rich old aunt whom David needs to charm; a jealous fiancée and a case of mistaken identity involving another fierce leopard that escaped from a circus – and, naturally, screwball antics ensue.

The film will be introduced and given context by Peter Rainey, an SMSA member and cinema enthusiast, who returns to an earlier passion for films as a Programme Director for a Queensland Cinema Group, now that he has retired after 40 years in the education profession.
