The Office of the Colonial (later Chief) Secretary had a close association with all aspects of the administration of NSW for much of the 19th century, including the convict system and assisted immigration. As a result, it was responsible for the creation of records of major importance for family historians.
Event hosted by the Society of Australian Genealogists.
