Shauna Hicks: Are You Making the Most of Google - Google Tools for Genealogists
At the monthly meeting of The Heraldry & Genealogy Society of Canberra (HAGSOC) on Tuesday 6 August 2013 at 8pm at the Neighbourhood Hall, Cook Community Hub, 41 Templeton Street Cook ACT 2614 (6251 7004) our guest speaker will be Shauna Hicks. Shauna’s topic will be: Are You Making the Most of Google - Google Tools for Genealogists.
Shauna is very well known to HAGSOC members from the time she spent at our Society. She has been tracing her own family history since 1977. She worked in government for over 35 years primarily in libraries and archives in Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne. Since retiring from full time work, she has operated Shauna Hicks History Enterprises, a part time research and consultancy business. In addition she has written a number of family history guides published by Unlock the Past.
There is no charge for attending the monthly meeting and visitors are welcome.
The Heraldry & Genealogy Society of Canberra Inc was founded in 1964 ‘to promote and encourage the study and preservation of family history, genealogy, heraldry and allied subjects, and to assist members and others in research in these areas.’ The Society is run entirely by volunteers, who give generously of their time, expertise and goodwill to provide a service for all members.
