The next Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival, will be held from May 19-21 2017! This unique major cultural festival for South Australia has been held biennially in the three Copper Coast towns of Moonta, Wallaroo and Kadina since 1973, routinely attracting more than 40,000 people who gather to celebrate the region’s significant Cornish heritage.

With a new focus and drive to reignite the flame for the festival, the committee is replanning and refreshing the festival. The secret of longevity for this Cornish festival (dubbed the World’s largest!) is its unique authentic program of fun and feasting. Hundreds dress as Cornish Jacks and Jennies, thousands of Cornish pasties are consumed, Swanky beer is swilled, and crowds fill town squares for the spectacle that is the maypole and furry dancing.

Necks crane to view the Procession and Cavalcade of Cars and Motorcycles, and people travel thousands of miles to experience the Gathering of the Bards and the Dressing of the Graves.

The event is going social this year, and all news will be delivered online so be sure to follow them to keep up to date with all the latest planning and developments - click below to be directed to their social media pages.
