- Making sense of the census
Saturday 15 September 2012 - Making sense of the census with Pauline Williams
Census records are an invaluable tool in locating where your ancestors lived, where they came from, who they were with, what they did for a living, and much more. Detailed census returns survive for England, Wales, and Scotland at 10 year intervals from 1841 until 1911. Irish census returns survive for 1901 and 1911. Unfortunately, Australian census returns are sparse. This course outlines the background to the censuses, what you may find, where you can access the data, and strategies to optimise search results.
Cost: $10 for GSQ members and $13 for non-members
Time: 9.30am to 11.45am
Venue: GSQ, 38 Fisher St, East Brisbane
