Online family history classes
New online family history courses are available now from the National Institute for Genealogical Studies, including courses for the new ‘Australian Records Certificate'. Courses starting 7 February 2011 include ‘Australia: Births, Deaths and Marriages’, Methodology courses (‘Getting Started’ and also ‘Organizing and Skillbuilding’), ‘Analysis and Skills Mentoring’ – and more. 12 more courses covering the range of Australian records will become available during 2011. Any of the courses can also be taken independently. In February the course ‘Research: Australian and New Zealand Ancestors’ will also be running.
The National Institute for Genealogical Studies offers courses via distance education, using the internet. This allows students to study at their own pace, at the time and place convenient for them.
The Institute offers Certificate Programs in the records of Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, Germany, Scotland and the United States, as well as a Librarianship Certificate.
Bookings can be placed and further information found at http://www.genealogicalstudies.com.
