Open House Melbourne
Open House Melbourne is a free event, providing access to the city's most significant buildings. Most buildings are open access across the event weekend, which means all you need to do is turn up!
The architecture of our city is a reflection of our culture. The buildings we design and build today, and those we protect, will form our future heritage and define the Melbourne of tomorrow. Our city explains our past, represents the present and offers insights into our future.
The annual Open House Melbourne weekend provides a free and rare opportunity to access and discover the wealth of over 100 significant buildings designed for Melbourne from a broad range of building types, styles and periods.
Open House Melbourne will take place on 26 and 27 July and throughout the month of July.
Join us for a month long celebration of architecture, design and the city during Open House Melbourne. We invite you to join us for film screenings, talks, art installations, and even an archaeological dig. From the 22 June, we will be hosting a range of events to encourage you to be curious, along with over 100 buildings to visit during the Open House Melbourne weekend. Seasoned Open House veterans and new visitors alike will have something new to discover about our wonderful city.
Be sure to purchase your copy of the printed program that tells the the stories of the city and helps Open House Melbourne keep the weekend free. The list of buildings will be announced on Monday 16 June, so be sure to sign up to our newsletter to receive the announcement.
