Phillip Bradley – in conversation with Ian Bowring – gives a moving and humane account of the men who fought in Papua New Guinea during WWII.

Using an extensive array of interviews and written accounts from the men who served, Hell’s Battlefield covers the entire war in Papua New Guinea from 1942 to 1945 from Kokoda to beyond.

Over 100,000 Australians – Phillip Bradley’s father among them – fought in New Guinea and many never returned.

Phillip Bradley respectfully evokes the brutal reality of the war, including the mud, the blood, the bravery and the losses on land, at sea and in the air.
