This is the fourth year of the highly successful open day. Each National Archives capital city office is presenting a range of fascinating activities including free seminars, workshops, demonstrations and guided tours, all relating to finding your family history.

The theme this year is Unexpected Discoveries: Amazing stories your family didn’t tell you…..

A full program for the day is available for download on the website.

Shaking the Family Tree

My discovery was 'greater' than the Advertisement on TV...I found mothers Grandfather was born the day before they got married.  Told Mum and she said, " No that is not possible, must be wrong information on BMD Certificates".

Found so much more, connections to Cliff Richards and Susie Quatro too!  And interesting stories, a bushranger female in Tasmania held up Stagecoaches.

You definitely don't have to know where to start just start LOOKING?
