This exhibition looks at the role regional Australia played in supporting, supplying
and defending the nation during World War II. A travelling exhibition by Museums
& Galleries NSW, ‘There’s a war on!’ looks at the war from the perspective of
those on the home front, and examines objects, sites and oral history from
regional NSW. This collection gives an intimate insight into the impact of war on
regional communities and highlights the significance of regional collections, local
stories and alternative historical voices.
